Expression of emotion is a term used in the family setting as the quantity of the "measure" of emotion shown (especially bad feelings towards the sick family member, emotional over-entanglement and criticism). This category should be used when the family's high expression of emotion is the focus of clinical attention or affects the course, outcome, or treatment of a family member's mental or other health problem.
